Prayer to Find Lost Joy

Saint Dymphna, I do not remember when joy last dwelt in my life. I do not know when it disappeared, I do not know where it went, and I have no idea where to look for it. Yet I believe that now, as I become your friend in this trusting prayer to God through your intercession, you will share with me your joy, which flows from your eternal dwelling in the glory of the Father.

Saint Dymphna, you who have the power to intercede with God for all whom joy and hope have abandoned in life, do not leave me without help. Today I stand before you with my sorrow, with my lack of joy, and I ask you with all my heart: fill my life with the radiance of true, unfading, deep joy. Amen.
