PrayWave is a community of prayer. Here you share your intentions, pray for the intentions of others and give thanks for answered prayers. These terms describe the rules for using PrayWave: what you can do, what is not allowed and how we look after the community.
PrayWave is run by Sławomir Jakubowski, residing at ul. Szczęśliwa 12, Gowino, Poland (the Administrator). You can write to him at hello@praywave.app.
PrayWave is the successor of intencje.pl, which was run by the same Administrator. Accounts and content from intencje.pl have been moved to PrayWave.
PrayWave works as the website praywave.app and as an app for iOS and Android phones (together: the Service). Using the Service is free.
In the Service you can, in particular:
- without an account, read intentions, testimonies and prayers, the readings for each day and information about saints and parishes;
- once signed in, add intentions and testimonies, pray for the intentions of others, thank people for their prayer, save favorites, choose your parish and maintain your profile;
- receive notifications in the Service, push notifications and e-mails, if you turn them on.
The Administrator may add new features to the Service, change existing ones and withdraw them. Every feature of the Service, including one added later, is covered by these terms.
Everything you add or send in the Service, in any form and in any feature, including one added later, is called Content below. Content includes, in particular, intentions, testimonies, comments, thanks, messages and conversations with other users, and pictures.
The Service is available in seven languages. Intentions, comments and testimonies of users are translated automatically by a language model, so a translation may not always convey exactly what the author meant.
You may create an account if you are at least 16 years old. Younger people may browse the Service without an account but may not create one.
You create your account when you sign in for the first time. You enter your e-mail address and the Service sends a one-time code to it. The Service does not use passwords. By signing in with a code, you accept these terms and confirm that you are at least 16 years old.
- Your account is personal. Do not share your sign-in codes with anyone.
- Give an e-mail address you use: sign-in codes and notifications are sent there.
- You can delete your account at any time in the settings (Settings, Delete account). Deletion is permanent. Your Content and the data described in the Privacy Policy disappear together with the account.
To use the Service, you need internet access and an up-to-date browser or the PrayWave app. So that you do not have to sign in on every visit, the Service stores session data and one cookie on your device. The Privacy Policy describes them. Push notifications work only if you allow them.
Use the Service in accordance with the law, good morals and these terms.
You may not publish or send Content that:
- is erotic, pornographic, obscene or vulgar;
- promotes violence, hatred, racism or discrimination on grounds of religion, culture or ethnic origin;
- ridicules, insults or defames other people or violates their dignity, good name or privacy;
- advertises goods or services, including covertly;
- promotes crime, including online crime;
- contradicts the purpose of the Service, which is praying for one another, or the teaching of the Catholic Church.
You also may not:
- send spam or unsolicited commercial information;
- impersonate other people or organizations;
- disrupt the Service, for example by flooding it with automated requests;
- use the Service to make money, for example for fundraising or selling.
You are responsible for the Content you publish or send.
- When you ask for prayer for another person, do not give details by which that person can be recognized, unless they have agreed to it.
- Once approved by moderation, intentions, testimonies and comments can be seen by everyone who visits the Service, including people who are not signed in. Messages can be seen only by the participants of the conversation.
- If you publish someone else's text, for example a prayer, respect its author's rights.
- You grant the Administrator a free and non-exclusive license to make your Content available in the Service, in notifications and in e-mails to other users, and to translate it into the languages of the Service, to the extent needed for the Service to work. The license lasts as long as the Content is in the Service.
- You can delete your intentions yourself. To have any other Content of yours deleted, ask the Administrator. Deleting your account deletes all your Content.
New intentions, testimonies and comments are checked by the Administrator or by moderators appointed by him before we show them to others. Moderation may correct Content, for example remove another person's data from it or fix obvious typos, and it may also reject it. We do not show rejected Content to anyone except its author.
The Administrator may, at his own discretion, remove or hide any Content, including Content already published, even when it does not break these terms but in his judgment does not serve the Service. He does so in particular when:
- the Content breaks the law or these terms;
- the Content contradicts the purpose of the Service;
- the Content is spam or repeats other Content;
- the Content is out of date;
- the Content is written carelessly, for example with glaring spelling mistakes;
- technical reasons require it;
- the author of the Content asks for it.
We tell the author about the removal or hiding of Content and the reason for it, in the Service or by e-mail, and the author can ask for the matter to be looked at again.
You can report an intention that breaks these terms with the “Report” option in the menu of that intention. You can report any other Content and any user by e-mail at hello@praywave.app. We handle a report within 14 days.
For breaking these terms, the Administrator may also limit what an account can do or block it. You can ask for such a decision to be looked at again by writing to the Administrator.
The Service is free and we provide it as it is. We try to keep it running without interruption, but interruptions may be caused by maintenance, updates, failures or events beyond our control. The Administrator may temporarily switch the Service off or end it.
The Administrator is not responsible for users' Content or for errors in machine translations. He acts on reports when he learns of Content that breaks the law or these terms.
Send a complaint about how the Service works to hello@praywave.app. We will answer within 14 days. If we need more information from you to deal with it, the time limit runs from the day we receive it.
These terms may change, for example when the law or the way the Service works changes. We will announce every change in the Service or by e-mail. The date of the last change is always shown at the top of this page. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account.
The Service is governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, these terms do not take away the rights the law gives you, including the law of the country where you live.
How personal data is processed is described in the Privacy Policy.
