Prayer for Relief from the Symptoms of Neurosis

“You are the God who does wonders; among the peoples you have revealed your might” (Ps 77:15). Hear my petitions too, O Lord.

You know that I struggle with neurosis. I am afraid about everything and for everyone. At times anxiety paralyzes me, and the feeling of fear keeps me from functioning normally. I get irritated very quickly, which is a great obstacle in my relationships with others. Despite the encouragement of my loved ones to try to control my emotions, I find this very hard, and that brings further frustration and a sense of not accepting my own weaknesses.

Mother of God, Queen of Peace, Refuge of the Afflicted, Consoler of the poor and the sick, have pity on me; watch over me especially in the moments that are hard for me, when my emotions get the better of my reason. Intercede for me, I pray, with my Lord Jesus Christ, for whom nothing is impossible. Amen.
