Prayer of a Mother Whose Pregnancy Is at Risk

Saint Gianna Beretta, you knew well the fear and anxiety of a mother who carries a child beneath her heart but does not know whether she will be able to rejoice in its safe birth. I love with the most sincere motherly love this child whom the Lord God has created in my womb, but I fear for its fragile life, which is threatened and uncertain. I turn to you, heroic mother, because I know that you will understand me in my distress. I trust that you will come to my aid and obtain for me from God the graces I need.

Pray for my child, that my baby may come safely into the world and live for the glory of God and for our joy. And obtain for me the strength to bear this anxiety and fear for the future. Obtain for me the grace to accept God's will humbly and to understand rightly the meaning of His answer to my prayers. Amen.
