Prayer of Expectant Mothers

Lord Jesus, I pray to You with love for this life entrusted to me, which I carry in my womb. With humility I thank You for choosing me as an instrument of Your love. In this beautiful time of waiting, help me to live in constant surrender to Your holy will. Give me a mother's heart: pure, strong and generous. I offer You all my worries about the future: my fears, uncertainties and expectations regarding the child whom I do not yet know. Grant that my child may be born healthy; keep far from my child every physical harm and every danger to the soul. Please grant the fullness of eternal life to the children who were not allowed to be born, and surround families with Your care, so that by the power of Your grace they may successfully resist the snares of the evil spirit, welcoming every life with love and protecting it from the moment of conception until natural death.

You, Mary, who knew the countless joys of holy motherhood, give me a heart able to pass on a living and ardent faith. Sanctify my waiting, bless my quiet hope, grant that the fruit of my womb may grow in grace and holiness. Through Christ, your divine Son. Amen.
