Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help for a Sick Person

Mother of Perpetual Help, your divine Son, whom you hold in your arms, hears every request you make. Commend to Him also the sick person for whom I humbly pray to you today. Say but the word, and the sick person will be restored to health. Do not refuse me this grace; the sick have a special claim on your goodness. Ask Jesus, then, to preserve this dear life for us. Be yourself a good and merciful Healer to the sick person, and with your help he or she will surely regain lost strength. But if God, whose will governs the world, has decided otherwise, help the sick person, O Mother, and give him or her the strength to accept the cup of bitterness and to surrender peacefully to the decrees of Almighty God. Give the sick person patience, and guard him or her from despair. Mother, you are so powerful, you can console us. You are the best of Mothers, you long to save us. Hear us, then, graciously and come to our aid. Amen.
