Prayer for Priests

Holy Spirit, Spirit of Light, enlighten priests. Holy Spirit, Spirit of Purity, sanctify priests. Holy Spirit, Spirit of Power, sustain priests.

Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, grant that priests, enlivened and strengthened by Your grace, may carry the word of truth and the blessing of peace to the whole world. May the fire of holy love inflame their hearts, so that in the flames of this love they may purify and sanctify souls.

Holy Spirit, we entrust priestly hearts to You; shape them after the pattern of the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Amen.
