Prayer for Holy Priests

O Jesus, our Mediator and High Priest, we offer You our prayers, works and sufferings for Your priests, that by the holiness of their lives they may spread Your Kingdom.

O Jesus, sent from heaven as our High Priest – give us holy priests!O Jesus, for the saving proclamation of Your teaching – give us holy priests!O Jesus, for the offering of Your Sacrifice of the Cross every day – give us holy priests!

O Jesus, for the saving administration of the holy sacraments to us – give us holy priests!

O Jesus, for the forgiveness of our sins in the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation – give us holy priests!

O Jesus, for the strengthening of our families in faith and good morals – give us holy priests!

O Jesus, for the raising of children for Your glory – give us holy priests!O Jesus, for defense and help amid the dangers of the world – give us holy priests!O Jesus, for our preparation for a happy death – give us holy priests!O Jesus, for the spreading of Your Kingdom – give us holy priests!

Let us pray. O God, who for the glory of Your majesty and the salvation of the human race appointed Your Only Begotten Son the supreme and eternal Priest, we ask You that those whom He has chosen to be ministers and stewards of His mysteries may always remain faithful in fulfilling the ministry they have received. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
