Prayer to Saint Jude Thaddeus in Great Distress

O Saint Jude Thaddeus, kinsman of Christ the Lord, great Apostle and Martyr, renowned for virtues and miracles, you are a powerful Advocate in grievous circumstances and desperate cases. I come to you with humility and trust, and from the depths of my soul I call upon your help before God. O my holy Patron, to whom God gave the privilege of coming to the rescue in cases where there is no longer any hope of help, look kindly upon me. Behold, my life is full of suffering and sorrow; day after day passes in affliction, and my heart overflows with bitterness. The paths of my life are thickly covered with suffering, and hardly a day passes without worry and tears. My mind is surrounded by darkness; anxiety, discouragement and even despair force their way into my soul, so that I almost forget Divine Providence.

O my holy Advocate, you cannot abandon me in this sad condition of mine. I will not leave your feet until you hear me. Hasten to my rescue, and I will show you my gratitude all my life by spreading devotion to you. Amen.
