Prayer for Children to Our Lady of Perpetual Help

O Mother of Perpetual Help, most blessed Mother of the Divine Child, I come to you with a heavily burdened heart, yet full of trust in your Perpetual Help. I implore you, by the love of your divine Son and by the sorrows and cares you bore for Him, be for my children (my child) – whom I have consecrated to you and today give to you anew – a good and tender Mother. Take them under your protection and surround them with your care in the many dangers that threaten them in this earthly life.

The heavenly Father has entrusted these children to me as the most precious treasure. They are redeemed by the most precious Blood of the Son of God.

It is my duty to raise them by teaching and example so that they may become heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven. Woe to me if even one of them were to be lost forever through my fault. How gravely I would have to answer for it at God's judgment.

But I am weak. Without God's grace, without your help and mediation, O dear Mother, I cannot accomplish this. Help me, then, and implore your Son to grant me the strength and grace I need. Teach me what I must do. I will gladly do everything, if only I can raise my children well and lead them to God and to you, to virtue and to good. But the dangers that threaten them from the world are great, and I cannot be present everywhere. If you, dearest Mother, do not defend and keep them, all my efforts will be in vain. Defend my children, then, O best of Mothers, Mary.

For you always help, and they belong to you. May they always remain yours; may none of them be lost, may none of them be unhappy. Grant this, O Mother of Perpetual Help. Amen.
