Prayer for Children through the Intercession of Saint John Paul II

Good Father, we thank You for the call to fatherhood and motherhood. We thank You for the great things You have done for us, as You did for Mary. We thank You for our children, this wonderful fruit of our love. To You we entrust their present and their future.

Saint John Paul II said: “Mary's motherly vigil – what an unfathomable experience, what a record of a woman's heart that lived wholly by God. Truly ‘the Mighty One has done great things for her, and holy is his name’” (Lk 1:49).

Through the intercession of Saint John Paul II, the Pope who stressed the value of fatherhood and motherhood, we ask You, O God, that we may rise to the task and be good parents. May we know how to live by God and pass on to our children the truth about Your love. Please take our children into Your care and grant that they may never lose their faith, the most precious treasure with which You endow man. Amen.
