Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (2)

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, divine Heart, truly present among us. Long ago You made us Your own through the grace of holy Baptism. Many times, in the depths of our souls, we have consecrated ourselves to You. Today we have gathered before You, O Jesus, to make an even fuller offering of ourselves to You. You are our King and our Lord. Through the merits of the sufferings of Your divine Heart, dying of love for us, and through the Blood You shed for the redemption of our souls, we earnestly implore You for faithfulness to the promise we make today: that we will always acknowledge You as our King and Lord.

Heart of Jesus, You are our King. We desire to live according to the laws of Your divine Heart, which are humility, self-denial, gentleness and trusting surrender to You. We promise to live in peace and mutual love. We want to bring Your Kingdom into our hearts and to spread it around us.

Heart of Jesus, You are our Lord. We want always to do everything for You alone, to spread Your glory and to fulfill Your good pleasure, desiring no other payment or reward but You, O Lord. We want to follow You with heartfelt and selfless love. All our actions, adversities and sufferings we offer to You, O Most Sacred Heart.

Heart of Jesus, our thoughts will turn to You unceasingly, to keep You company in the loneliness in which the world leaves You. We want Your love to be the motive of all our actions, so that we may live by love alone, consoling Your forsaken Heart. May Your love be our only joy and happiness.

O Heart of Jesus, without You we can do nothing; from You comes every grace. Sun of justice, be the sun of our life. Enlighten and enliven our souls, which are turned toward You. Together with the promises made today, accept our firm resolution to strive for the perfection to which You have called us in our state of life.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, from this day we want to begin a new life. We desire to purify and strengthen our souls; therefore we humbly implore You, through the merits of Your Passion and death endured for us, for the forgiveness of all our faults and imperfections. Heart of Jesus, King and Lord of our family and of every soul, have mercy on us. In You we place all our hope. Amen.
