Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (1)

Most sweet Jesus, I fall at Your feet to consecrate myself and to offer myself anew to Your Heart, wounded by love and sorrow for my salvation and that of the whole world. I honor, adore, praise and love Your Most Sacred Heart, substantially united to the Word of God and most worthy of all praise. I bless and thank Your most amiable Heart, of whose fullness we have all received. I implore You, forgive me and all people that we so often repay the inexpressible love and abundant benefits of Your Heart, so full of love and goodness, with coldness, ingratitude and unfaithfulness.

I promise that, through purity of affections, love of mortification and patient endurance of adversity, sincere devotion, conscientious keeping of God's commandments and fulfillment of all my duties, I will strive with greater zeal to make my heart like Your Most Sacred Heart, which is the abyss of all virtues.

I promise to work earnestly, by prayer, example and apostolate, to bring all souls to the Catholic Church, to Your Vicar on earth, to Your most sweet Heart, which is the King and center of all hearts.

I promise to make every effort, by mortification, penance and holiness of life, and by devoutly offering Holy Mass and Holy Communion, to make reparation for sins, especially for the many outrages against the Most Blessed Sacrament, with which the ungrateful fill Your Heart with insult and pierce it again with the lance.

Heart of the Son of the eternal Father, Heart of Jesus, in which dwells the fullness of the Godhead, Heart worthy of infinite adoration and love, Heart bruised for our iniquities, to You I give and consecrate myself. In Your Heart, together with myself, I place all my brothers and sisters, the whole human family. Cleanse it with Your Most Precious Blood, inflame it with Your divine love, and sanctify it with Your heavenly grace. I earnestly implore You for this through the merits of the sorrowful Heart of the Immaculate Virgin, Your Mother, through the merits of Saint Joseph, Your foster father and our Protector, and through the intercession of all the saints, especially those who honored Your adorable Heart, which is our life and resurrection and the delight of all the saints. Amen.
