Prayer for Inner Healing

My Lord and my God, my Beginning and my End! You are the Lord of history and the Lord of the history of my life. I ask You now for Your Holy Spirit, so that in His power I may look at the history of my life and at my expectations through the prism of His light. I thank You for the gift of memory, and I ask You: awaken the memories of the events in my life that have drawn me away from You, those for which I secretly reproach You, or those that I push down into my subconscious. At this moment I want to open my heart to Your mercy. I want to return to You from afar and once again receive Your closeness as a gift. Take me into Your arms and take from me all lack of trust in You. You are so great that You allow me to forgive You for having permitted so many things that I do not understand and never will understand.
