Prayer in Suffering

O wondrous Jesus, who so many times comforted the afflicted and rescued the unfortunate – Jesus, full of mercy, You are my hope and my refuge. Help me too, unworthy as I am, in this misfortune that now weighs me down. And if You know that this cross is necessary for my salvation – O Jesus, not my will but Yours be done always. Be pleased to sustain me, wondrous Jesus, with Your grace, so that I may carry it patiently and with willing submission to Your decrees. If I suffer, may I suffer with merit and through this cross earn an eternal reward. O Mary, compassionate Mother, in the name of the sorrows you suffered on Calvary at the hour of your Son's death, intercede now for me, your sinful child, and obtain for me help or the grace to persevere in my sufferings… Intercede for me with Merciful Jesus, O Mary, Mother of Consolation. Amen. I give all my sufferings into Your hands, O Jesus. And you, who suffered with Him, Sorrowful Mother, intercede for us.
